Have you ever felt like there was so much to do but so little time? If you have, then you’re not alone. Everyone, at least once in their lives, has felt that way. We have all these responsibilities we have to attend to, but no matter how hard we work, it seems as though we just can’t get things done. We try to accomplish all the tasks in our to-do lists but before we even know it, the sun goes down and our workday has ended.

They always say that time is precious, and we have to make the most out of every single day. But that’s harder than it sounds, considering that we aren’t always productive. There are days when we feel extremely lazy and unmotivated. True enough, we can’t be 100%, 100% of the time.

So how do we really make the most out of every day? Our energy and productivity are like muscles that get tired and weary as the day goes by. Hence, the solution to staying productive and making the most out of your time is to start your day right. The slightest actions we undertake in the morning can either make or break the rest of the day. So let’s make active efforts to build good habits in the morning that will help you maximize your energy.

Have a big breakfast

A lot of us skip breakfast either because we’re just not hungry or we’re running a little late. But as they say, breakfast is the most important meal of the day. Having a big breakfast will fuel your energy and productivity. Not only that, but it also helps improve your focus and concentration at work. Hence, you start your day right and get more things done.

Before heading off for work, cook yourself a nice, filling meal. If you don’t have the luxury of time to hit the kitchen, stop by a convenience store, and approach the glass-door refrigerators to grab a healthy drink.

Exercise

With our busy schedules and demanding jobs, it’s difficult to find time to exercise. Chances are, we’re lagging way behind our fitness goals. But exercising is not only for losing weight or staying healthy. In fact, it helps boost your energy, keeping you more motivated and productive throughout the day.

Studies show that those who exercise every morning have higher levels of energy than those who don’t. So make it a point to exercise even for just 10 minutes every day. This is enough to prompt your brain to release GABA, a neurotransmitter that calms your mind and improves your focus and productivity.

No gadgets

When you wake up in the morning, what is the first thing you do? For most people, they grab their phones (even while half asleep) to check for notifications, emails, and texts. But in doing this, you’re starting your day frantically.

Try putting your phone away from you in the morning. Instead, use that time to do relaxing and energy-boosting activities. Make this a rule for yourself: no screen time before breakfast.

Set goals

We know how goal-setting is important to align our aspirations with our actions. For sure, you have long-term goals in place. But have you ever considered setting daily goals? Setting goals for the day helps keep your mind focused and gives you the feeling of absolute control. It could be as simple as finishing that article you’ve been putting off or getting back on track with your to-do list. When you define concrete goals you want to achieve within the day, you’re setting things in motion. It gives you a clearer path to take, reducing the chances of procrastination and exhaustion.

In order to make the most out of your day, you have to start it right. Build good habits in the morning that can help boost your energy and productivity.
